NOW & COMP Waiver

Family Support Services

Georgia Vocational
Rehabilitation Agency

The NOW waiver helps individuals with less intensive and urgent needs with access support in their home or community environments. The COMP waiver provides support for individuals who may need more comprehensive and intensive services to live in the community, out-of-home residential support, or intensive in-home services to remain in the community.

Family Support Services is a non-entitlement program that brokers disability-specific services based on the unique needs of individuals and their families. They provide their services with the belief that families belong together and individuals are best served in a community setting. Their ultimate goal is to maintain a cohesive family unit while helping individuals live at home in the community. These supports meet everyday needs that are often critical in avoiding family crises.

InCommunity, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit agency headquartered in Atlanta, was created to provide community-based services and support to people with developmental disabilities and their families.

disABILITY LINK services are available to persons with disabilities, their families and communities throughout Metro Atlanta and surrounding counties including Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, Dekalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Newton, Rockdale Counties and limited services in
Butts, Lamar, Meriwether, Pike, Spalding, and Upson Counties.

FriendsÜNeed, affectionately called “FÜN Club” by its members, offers a safe and structured daily enrichment program Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. They provide recreation, community service, personal enrichment and daily life skills education activities as well as transportation to, and from, the facility. 

Happyfeat is a nonprofit organization 501(c) 3, that supports individuals with special needs by providing inclusive programs to support our incredible friends and their communities inthese critical areas: community involvement and life enrichment platforms.​

WOW In-Sync, Inc. is a Georgia 501(c) (3) non-profit providing training and support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism to help them integrate more fully into business and community.

Jewish Family & Career Services of Atlanta (JF&CS)

St. Mary's Independent Living Extensions (SMILE) is a nonprofit organization of trained caregivers who work around-the-clock to enrich the lives of adults with developmental disabilities by maximizing independence, breaking down barriers and advocating for greater community access.

The mission of Annandale Village is to provide progressive life assistance to adults with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries so that they can maximize their abilities and maintain their independence in the least restrictive environment.

The mission of Special Needs Respite is to provide funding for quality respite care and resources for families of special needs children in metro Atlanta.

JF&CS Atlanta has a supported employment program, independent living program, and Community Access Group for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

YourRespite

YourRespite provides childcare, in the home, for special needs children up to age 19.

The Art of Living

Special Olympics

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
